Cameron Plommer on his difficulties with GTD's 2-minute rule:
"To remedy this issue I have come up with a highly technical solution. Now, I keep a sticky note pad and pen to the left of my keyboard at all times. When I’m doing something and need realize I need to do something else that takes under two minutes, I jot it down on the sticky note. When I have a break in my current task, I scan through my 2-minute list and bang them out."
Out of all the rules of GTD, I also have trouble with the 2-minute rule. When I process my inbox, I normally just mark up everything with a project and a context and handle it later — thus cluttering my projects and lists.
I already utilize a similar tactic with other tasks, but Cameron's solution of a separate inbox for small 2-minute tasks might be the answer to my problem.
Now if only I had accurate time estimate skills to actually determine what will actually take < 2 minutes.
