Brian Lam on this year's Google IO's announcements:

"That'll come in Google's new phone operating system, with a few new gimmicks but also notable is a Siri-like voice assistant. There's also a $200 tablet they're making in partnership with Asus which probably will not be better than the iPad but will probably be better than the Kindle Fire. And they've got a $300 media streaming box that is overpriced, under-featured and will probably flop. They also showed off their Google glass glasses, which at the moment are only taking high quality video, but not much else...

More as it becomes important and "the best". Or, if it doesn't, you won't hear me talk about it again."

All you need to know about what went on at Google IO.

Side note: I am really enjoying Brian's approach on Wirecutter.
