Imitations and knock offs are hilarious to me. Having been the recipient of a Coby "Walkman" as a kid, I know how it is to own a generic rip-off — especially as I compared it to the Sony versions that my friends had. Seeing them nowadays makes me believe that the product designers actually have a hilarious time trying to make their products "differ" from the actual name-brand versions.
But these knock-offs of App Cubby apps that owner David Barnard pointed out in his post aren't even close to being funny. They're almost exactly the same. Just look at the knock-off timer app compared to the actual Timer app. I'm pretty sure David and App Cubby aren't the only ones being ripped off idea-wise — but hopefully they don't have to go far ($$$) to get these imitators off the App Store.
