While OmniFocus is great for pointing me in the direction of what to do, the app does have one fatal flaw (especially in their iPad app) — I keep staring at the dark background in both their icons and within their apps. Honestly, like a deer caught in headlights.
The situation certainly didn't improve after receiving the Retina Display iPad. This phenomenon, however, does not go without reason. The OmniGroup has posted on their blog about the icon transition they underwent recently and the design strategy involved with it.
From the prime number based pattern generation to the "Omni" branded foreground elements, these designs are truly breathtaking.
